Age Restrictions This is an Open Aged Tour for passengers over the age of 6 years. Children between 6-18 must also be accompanied by an adult. Suitability: Individual hikes vary between 2-5km. You can choice to requested to sit out a hike if you feel like just relaxing and enjoying the outback air - email us for more details if your not sure it you can hike the routes. General fitness is required.

Facilities On Tour: Showers, toilets, permanent camps with camp beds in large 2 man tents already erected.
To Bring:

Eticket, water bottle, torch (flashlight), toiletries & items of personal nature, hat, closed, sturdy walking shoes (essential), open footwear (optional), sunscreen, flynet, camera & film, warm clothing in winter months, wet weather gear.

Our vehicles have limited space therefor we need to keep luggage to a minimum. (i.e. a soft small bag). Passengers on tours that include air transfer need to observe strict luggage limitations maximum 16kgs.

DAY 1: Alice Springs to Yulara
Departing Alice Springs, we head south, stopping for a short visit at the Outback Camel Farm (rides at own expense) and then heading straight to Yulara. It’s then onto our permanent campsite for lunch. The afternoon is spent exploring Uluru (Ayers Rock). Join your knowledgeable guide for a base tour (not climb due to respect of the elders wishes) of Uluru, exploring ancient caves where Aboriginal paintings can be seen, learning about the oldest culture in the world. At sunset, you will appreciate the spectacular colour changes of Uluru. Later we return to camp for a traditional Aussie meal. Ayers Rock Resort Permanent Campsite Lx1 Dx1

DAY 2: Yulara to Kings Creek
It’s an early rise for an exciting morning with breathtaking views of sunrise at Kata-Tjuta (The Olgas). Go for a walk to appreciate the beauty of the 36 magical domes and learn about unique fauna, flora and fire management of the national park. This afternoon, travel through red sand dune & desert oak country to Kings Creek Cattle Station where optional activities are abundant. Tonight, try a traditional “camp oven” dinner, cooked in the coals of the fire.

DAY 3: Wattarka National Park & Kings Canyon to Wallace Rockhole
This morning we visit breathtaking Watarrka National Park,home of Kings Canyon. There’s no rush as we hike around the canyon rim viewing sites like the “Lost City” and the “Garden of Eden”. After a picnic lunch, we head off on the famous Mereenie Loop Road towards the MacDonnell Ranges. In the afternoon, we stop at Hermannsburg – one of the most famous aboriginal missions and also home to well known artist Albert Namatjira. We then drive to Wallace Rockhole Aboriginal Community, our overnight camp.

DAY 4: Wallace Rockhole to Alice Springs
This morning we join our local guide and visit the Rockhole to view Aboriginal rock art and to learn about the Aboriginal culture (seasonal). You’ll also participate in an Aboriginal Dot Painting Class, learning and practising some of the traditional techniques used in the arts and crafts. Today we’ll also explore some of the Western MacDonnell ranges’ highlights: Standley Chasm and Simpson Gap; enjoy a picnic in the beautiful surroundings, and do some hiking where we may see rock wallabies. Later we’ll continue on to Alice Springs, arriving approx. 6.30pm.

A Message from the Anangu People
• Anangu, Uluru's traditional owners, would prefer that visitors choose not to climb Uluru. Furthermore, the climb may be closed without notice due to weather or cultural reasons.

• Please note that some activities within Australia’s national parks are dependent on weather and the observance of cultural traditions, therefore itineraries are subject to change. Pack only your bare essentials. Luggage is restricted to one reasonably sized suitcase or backpack and a small cabin bag, which can be carried inside the coach. Make sure your baggage is insured.

This camping tour caters for those on a limited budget but still wanting to travel in a small group (10 - 24 passengers). It is designed for those who are looking for adventure and who want to experience the beauty of Central Australia whilst enjoying the reward of camping and meeting new friends. Although there is no hard work on the camping tour it's success does rely on the participation of all the passengers to help with cooking, collecting firewood etc. Passengers considering this tours should be in good health, young at heart and be prepared to experience an unforgettable camping adventure.

Insurance:
We strongly recommend passengers to take out travel insurance to cover any unforeseen circumstances which may arise (including cancellation fees, medical and curtailment expenses, loss of luggage, early departure from tour due to death or illness etc.)

• These trips may include activities such as a 3 to 4 hour trek in the hills, some kayaking, or even a long days cycling in a humid climate. An average level of fitness is recommended.
